Ace of Cups

Ace of Cups

THE ROOT OF THE POWERS OF WATER

RAW POTENTIAL OF WATER

The Ace of Cups is the feminine counterpart to the Ace of Wands.  It represents the maternal force of Binah.

As all Aces, it originates in Keter and holds all the raw potential of the suit – in this case Cups. Sensitivity, intuition, feelings, relations – the potential for all of them are contained in this card.

SYMBOLISM

The Ace of Cups is all about water. The red lotus, the flower that gives us birth and enlightenment bursts forth bringing us the CUP , and, by extension, the suit of Cups. Water is spilling out of it – indicating that the potential is infinite and overflowing.

In this Ace of Cups, the cup itself is engulfed in a bright light.  This light is Chokmah’s energy impregnating Binah, in order for Binah to create form.
