LORD OF DEFEAT
VENUS IN AQUARIUS
The Five of Swords is Gevurah in Yetzirah. It is the power of Severity in the Formative world of Air.
The Five of Swords, along with Nine and Ten of Swords is among the most destructive in the of all Tarot Cards. To begin with, we have Venus in Aquarius. Venus, a planet of love rules a calm, earthly sign of Taurus. Yet here, the lover Venus meets the rebel Aquarius, ruled by Uranus. Uranus is a fighter for causes. So it is only inevitable that the aloof nature of Aquarius would clash with Venus, a planet of relationships. To add to the conflict, the Sephirah Gevurah is ruled by Mars, a planet of fire and calculated aggression. Thus, everything in the Five of Swords points to disharmony.
