LORD OF EARTHLY POWER
SUN IN CAPRICORN
The Four of Pentacles is Chesed in Assiah. Â It is the power of the Mercy in the Active (Material) world. What a great combination! Chesed, ruled by Jupiter is more than happy to shine its light on the Active World. Â Jupiter, after all is a planet of growth and expansion.Â
Furthermore, in Four of Pentacles, Sun is in Capricorn. Â What a self-assured combination. Â The Sun, a planet of ego and self-realization, finally reaches Capricorn, a sign of ambition and tenacity. Â As a result, this card is almost a bit too self-assured and smug!
SYMBOLISM
This Four of Pentacles is the fullest expression, the grounding of the Chesed energies. It is assured material gain, and earthly power completed (material – nothing else).
The Old Man in the Four of Swords has a very sly look on his face. In his arms, he is holding onto his four pentacles with all his might and vigor. Â The four symbols inside the pentacles represent the four elements (Fire, Water, Air, Earth). Â These elements all come together in Malkut.
The Sun is shining (Sun in Capricorn). A Capricorn Goat is ever-present, observing (if not monitoring) the Old Man.
