LORD OF SUCCESS UNFULFILLED
SATURN IN TAURUS
The Seven of Pentacles is Netzach in Assiah. It is the force of Victory (Eternity) in the Active (Material World). There is too much emotion in this card for it to be truly happy. Netzhach (Emotions), the seventh Sephirah is ruled by Venus. Devoid of the intellect of Hod, Netzhach cannot be truly satisfied with the present, live in the moment, in the world of Assiah.
Furthermore, the Six of Pentacles is Saturn in Taurus. Taurus is a sign of physical and financial pleasure. Saturn is a planet of restriction and limits. Therefore, Taurus cannot have enough money nor love. The result: bitter disappointment.
SYMBOLISM
In this Seven of Pentacles we see an old farmer leaning against a tree. For all his hard work, all he has to look forward to is his measly lunch of stale bread and water. The farmer plainly looks exhausted.
Tied to a tree behind the farmer is an ox (representing the Bull of Taurus) with a plow. The Ox shares the back-breaking exhaustion of the Farmer. Even the beast of burden is disappointed.
